{"id":585,"date":"2026-08-03T20:41:18","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T20:41:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/longdistancemoversusas.com\/?p=585"},"modified":"2026-08-03T20:41:18","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T20:41:18","slug":"nevada-election-chief-says-trumps-voter-crackdown-is-about-fear-not-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/longdistancemoversusas.com\/?p=585","title":{"rendered":"Nevada election chief says Trump\u2019s voter crackdown is about fear, not fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar told MS NOW he is \u201cready for battle\u201d ahead of the midterms, as President Donald Trump continues a nationwide crackdown on voting access.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/longdistancemoversusas.com\/?p=583\">Blanche killed the \u2018anti-weaponization\u2019 fund, but loopholes abound<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In July, the administration said it found more than 250,000 noncitizens on voter rolls in California, Nevada, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.\u00a0 However, election officials say they have no idea how the federal government came up with that number, since the states refused to comply with the Justice Department\u2019s requests to provide their full, unredacted voter rolls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s really frustrating because if you look at a third grader, and if they have to do a math problem, they have to show their work,\u201d Aguilar told Vaughn Hillyard on Sunday. \u201cThe federal government has made these allegations, and they\u2019ve not shown their work or provided any transparency into the process they use to identify, or make the assumption that we have, noncitizens on our voter rolls.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Although the administration claims to be targeting noncitizens in its crackdown, Aguilar said every American should be concerned by the move. \u201cI think the American public should be worried about how the federal government is using information that they have about them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not a party issue,\u201d Aguilar said. \u201cThis is about personal privacy. This is about the protection of somebody\u2019s personal data and the fact that they are gathering this information about American citizens in a way that they have not explained.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/longdistancemoversusas.com\/?p=581\">Deadline: Legal Blog<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The secretary urged the Trump administration \u201cto be honest with the American public about how they\u2019re using this personal information.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aguilar said he did not believe the president\u2019s pursuit was about protecting the integrity of elections.
